An Amber Alert has been issued for two missing girls whose mother was found murdered inside their home. Trooper William Huggins with State Police said the two girls were abducted from a home in Loranger before 8 AM this morning. LSP issued the Amber Alert on behalf of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“Erin Brunett is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, approximately three feet tall, weighing about 32 pounds, and is three years old. And then Jalie Burnett is a white female with brown hair and blue eyes, approximately four feet tall and weighs 58 pounds, and is six years old,” said Huggins.
An unknown white male is wanted for questioning for the domestic incident and the abduction. Huggins said he’s believed to be driving a black 2012 Chrysler 200….
“With a Louisiana License plate 859 GML, there is no hubcap on the back right tire of that vehicle and is believed to have damage to the rear of that vehicle,” said Huggins.
According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, the homicide happened at a home on North Cooper Road in Loranger. Detectives found 35-year-old Callie Brunette dead inside that home, some 24 hours later after she was reported missing. According to deputies, Brunett’s two children were not in the home. Also missing is Brunett’s car.
Huggins said they only issued Amber Alerts in desperate situations.
“When we believe children actually could be harmed, so this is actually the most serious type of alert we’re going to send out as Louisiana State Police,” said Huggins.
