If you believe in Bigfoot, there’s a festival in Natchitoches with your name all over it.

The Louisiana Bigfoot Festival will be held Saturday at the Natchitoches Events Center, 7510 Second St., Natchitoches.

The event will include five featured speakers.

‘”They will present video, audio, thermal images, as well as give testimonies of their encounters themselves,” says organizer Carl Chism with Louisiana Bigfoot Hunters.

Another organizer, Jeff Tarpley, says this will be the first of what’s intended to be an annual event.

“Last year, we didn’t have one,” says Tarpley. “So Carl and I got together and said, ‘Look, let’s just have one in Natchitoches. We’re the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. What better place to have a Bigfoot festival than Natchitoches?’”

The event is geared towards people of all ages.

“We have no alcohol,” says Tarpley. “We have on-site police officers. Definitely, we are kid-oriented for sure.”

“We have at least 40 vendors that are going to be here,” adds Chism, “and this is a good fun day for the family.”

The event begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and wraps up at 6:00 p.m.

“It’s $10 for adults and $5 for 12 and younger,” says Tarpley.
