Governor Jeff Landry has announced a landmark $10 billion investment to build the world’s largest Meta Data Center in North Louisiana, marking the largest private investment in the state’s history. This 4-million-square-foot facility, to be in Richland Parish near Rayville, Landry says it’s expected to create thousands of jobs and span over 2,000 acres.

“This game changing investment that will transform Louisiana’s economy and position our state as a leader in the world of technology and innovation.”

This project has been in discussion since November, with Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell initially highlighting its potential. Governor Landry’s official announcement confirms the scale of the project, expected to eclipse Meta’s previous facilities, and signals significant economic growth and technological development for the region.

“This is not just another facility.  It is a $10 billion investment in Louisiana’s future.  This is not just a project but truly a generational transformation in Louisiana’s landscape.”

Landry says Entergy needs to build three new power plant plants to provide energy for the project expected to bring in even more jobs. The project is projected to provide a significant boost to Louisiana’s economy.

“This will be Meta’s largest investment yet in its AI center portfolio.  Marking a major milestone for the company and our state.”
