In Lake Charles, United Way Southwest Louisiana is partnering with their counterparts in Tallahassee to provide relief for the people impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“We remember all too clearly from four years ago after we were hit by Hurricane Laura and immediately (afterwards) Hurricane Delta where our families in Florida are today,” says Denise Durel, president and CEO of United Way Southwest Louisiana. “We’re just encouraging everyone to make a contribution, and 100% of everything that we receive will go to direct care of our neighbors in Florida.”
Durel says the very best thing you can donate is cash.
“Financial contributions are the absolute easiest for everyone to deal with, but we are accepting in-kind as well.”
