Walmart’s 11th Annual Open Call, held virtually across the United States lets entrepreneurs pitch their products to Walmart buyers. Walmart spokesperson Mark Espinosa says the Open Call aligns with Walmart’s broader strategy to spend an additional $350 billion on items made, grown, or assembled in the U.S.
“It’s an exciting and unique opportunity for selected entrepreneurs to pitch their “shelf-ready” product to a Walmart or Sam’s Club buyer. Potentially getting their products into the hands of millions of our customers.”
Selected applicants gain access to Walmart’s extensive distribution network, which can significantly boost their business growth.
“Sometimes the product will go into regional stores or it could go into hundreds of stores or even across the company.”
Entrepreneurs who get selected will be notified the week of August 20th to pitch their product in Bentonville, AK on September 24-25. Espinosa says it all comes down to the pitch…
“It really has to depend on how those products are pitched, and how that product is comparable to some of the other products we have or is unique that we haven’t carried before that our customers want.”
The deadline is July 15.
