Louisiana’s best high school football players are signing with colleges today as a three-day early signing period began today. Lafayette Christian Academy star Brayden Allen was one of LSU’s first signees. Lee Brecheen of Louisiana Football Magazine says the Tigers are getting a good one in Allen.
“Good route runner, good hands. Good speed, deceptive speed. One of those big guys that can be tough for corner matchup or strong safety or slot corners,” Brecheen said.
After reports surfaced that he was going to hold off on signing, the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle, Richard Anderson from Edna Karr High School, has indeed signed with LSU. Brecheen says Anderson’s teammate, four-star safety Aiden Hall, had signed with LSU earlier in the day.
“Very unique build for a high school kid, very mature build. I mean, how many DBs do you know play cornerback at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds and run a legit 4.5 and hit?” Brecheen asked.
LSU’s first signee of the day was Destrehan receiver Jabari Mack. Brecheen says Mack reminds him of former LSU star Ja’Marr Chase.
“Very similar to Ja’Marr in type, weight, in the way he blocks and can run, and a strong kid,” Brecheen said.
