Which college campus is ranked number one in Louisiana? According to the college search website Niche, that honor goes to Southeastern Louisiana University. The website especially noted the quality and affordability of Southeastern’s on-campus dining. President Dr. William Wainwright says it’s an honor the entire school can be proud of.
“Our students come to us with an incredible excitement, but also very high expectations: From how they’re treated, how they’re housed on campus, fed on campus; but also ensuring that we’re providing the appropriate technologies,” Wainwright said.
Southeastern was also recognized for its housing, diversity and social scene, which Dr. Wainwright says all contribute to student achievement.
“Students who are highly engaged outside of the classroom, on campuses, many of whom which live in residence halls, have a higher speed to completion and graduation,” Wainwright noted.
Wainwright says the intimate campus atmosphere makes for a much better academic experience for students.
“The faculty know them by name. Our students do not have challenges finding course sections. They do not have challenges finding the faculty that, specifically, are experts in their field,” Wainwright explained.
The next four in Niche’s top five are – in order – Tulane, UL Lafayette, Northwestern State and LSU Alexandria.
