A Thibodaux man is charged with sex crimes involving a child.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Capt. Brennan Matherne says juvenile detectives began investigating Gregory Leblanc, 61, last month after allegations surfaced about inappropriate behavior years ago with a girl who was under ten years old at the time.
“They found evidence of inappropriate photograph, apparently taken without the child’s knowledge, as well as details of several other incidents that occurred between Leblanc and the child,” says Capt. Matherne.
Leblanc was arrested and is facing a slew of charges.
“He was booked with 11 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, four counts of video voyeurism, two counts of pornography involving a juvenile and molestation of a juvenile,” Matherne says.
Investigators do not know of any other victims at this time.
“We hope that there are no other victims,” says Matherne; “but if there are, we hope that this arrest propels them to want to come forward to tell their story at least to investigators so that we can continue to bring sex offenders to justice.”
