LSU’s game against Clemson Saturday evening is one of the most anticipated games in school history. Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette says the game is so huge, they ended up issuing more than 900 credentials – the most credentials they have ever issued for a single football game in school history.
“The demand has been crazy; we’re still getting calls. And at this point, we’re telling people, ‘We just don’t have room.’ So, it’s been a whirlwind,” Bonnette said.
Bonnette says it’s not just the scores of media who will descend on the REAL Death Valley – there will be royalty among the more than 100,000 fans who will pack the stadium.
“I’m interested to see what celebrities show up. I know Livvy Dunne’s going to be here; I think Theo Vaughn’s going to be here; ESPN College Gameday is announcing a performance and some of the things that they have going on surrounding the show,” Bonnette noted.
Bonnette says this will be quite the Baton Rouge initiation for Lane Kiffin, who was undoubtedly impressed with the turnout last Saturday during the team’s gameday dress rehearsal.
“Lane told me when he first got to USC, they didn’t do any sort of march to the stadium. They put it in while he was there. He told me that the crowd he walked down Victory Hill with on Saturday was bigger than any crowd he ever had at USC,” Bonnette recalled.
