Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis met with the media in Paris today and the first question he asked was about Owner Gayle Benson’s critical comments regarding the team’s slow start to the season. Loomis has no issues with what Benson said.
“Look, I understood where she’s coming from; and I think every once in a while, we all need to be a little bit uncomfortable. That’s okay,” Loomis said.
New Orleans responded with a win last Sunday against the Giants to improve their record to 2-4. Loomis says this is a young team, and they are still learning how to win.
“We had a couple of games that we could easily have won. Detroit was a game that we could have easily won, and we had an 11-point lead against Las Vegas; so we didn’t get the outcomes that we were expecting or wanted,” Loomis noted.
The Saints will take the field vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers at Stade de France this Sunday at 8:30 am.
