LSU football coach Lane Kiffin has signed another quarterback out of the transfer portal. Former five-star recruit Husan Longstreet is a Tiger after spending one season at USC. College and pro football analyst Mike Detillier of WWL Radio says Longstreet threw for 8,500 yards and 83 touchdowns during his high school career in California.

“He’s a playmaker, on the move. That’s his biggest strength,” Detillier said.
Detillier says Longstreet is also an accurate passer.
Longstreet joins a quarterback room that already has Sam Leavitt, the 2024 Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, and Landen Clark, an FCS All-American at Elon. Detillier says Longstreet adds to the talent that LSU has at the quarterback position.
“Big pick up for Lane Kiffin now, to solidify his quarterback room,” Detillier noted.
Detillier says Longstreet provides LSU with good protection in the case that Leavitt does not recover fast enough from a surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury in his right foot. Like Leavitt, Detillier says Longstreet has good mobility.
“So he’s a playmaker, off the move. He can throw the pass off the waggle and also, if that guy’s not there, he’ll take off running with it downfield,” Detillier explained.
247Sports ranks LSU’s 2026 transfer portal class as the best in the country.
