It took nearly a decade, but detectives in Terrebonne Parish have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a woman. On December 1st, 2015, deputies found 56-year-old Pamela Johnson shot to death. This week, deputies arrested her husband, 70-year-old Charles Johnson, and 56-year-old Shannon Robinson. District Attorney Joseph Waitz says the Johnsons were going through a divorce at the time.
“It involved a domestic situation over community property. And to kill someone over this is very sad, very tragic,” Waitz said.
Waitz says Charles Johnson had hired Robinson to shoot his wife to death.
“It was a divorce going bad, and he felt like he had to do away with her protect his property,” Waitz explained.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet says the Johnsons were going through a messy divorce, and Charles was trying to protect his property.
“Based off of the divorce and probably the community property settlement, or whatever case, I think that was probably the majority of the motive involved in this,” Soignet said.
Johnson and Robinson are both being held without bond. Soignet and Waitz say this is still an active investigation, and more arrests are possible.
